General Information
Welcome to Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics! “What on earth does that mean?” you might ask. Well, our district has adopted curriculum from the University of Cambridge, particularly the IGCSE curriculum materials. IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education, and refers to curriculum that is designed for secondary students between the ages of 14 and 16.
My 9th and 10th grade classes are both working from the same IGCSE syllabus (course number 0444). I’ve edited out everything but the actual course content for you in this document:
0444 relevant syllabus 2015
If you’d like to download the entire syllabus, here it is: 0444 full syllabus 2015
The goal is for students to be able to complete the content in this syllabus by the end of their sophomore year. You may notice that the syllabus includes content from both algebra and geometry. The concepts addressed would have traditionally been found in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry courses.
Since we currently do not have a textbook for the course, I have uploaded materials from some older books (happily, math doesn’t change all that much). Click here for the downloadable pdfs:
